RegisSulphur Springs Middle School has designated two days this week for new student registration and two days next week for students to pick up their schedules.

Thursday and Friday, Aug. 13-14, have been designated for new student registration. New sixth through eighth grade students should report to SSMS office between 9 a.m. and noon or 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on one of those days with a parent or guardian to fill out their paperwork and get class schedules.

All new students will be required to present up-to-date immunization records, birth certificates and Social Security cards.

Two days next week, Thursday-Friday, Aug. 20-21, have been designated for all other students to pick up their class schedules. Again all  students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the school cafeteria on their designated day to fill out needed paperwork.

The three hour block from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, has been designated for eighth graders to pick up their schedules at SSMS cafeteria. Athletic equipment will be picked up at the field house. Friday, Aug. 21, seventh graders will be allowed to pick up their class schedules between 8:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. while sixth grader schedules will be available from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., also in the school cafeteria.

Any sixth-eighth grade student unable to report to SSMS office prior to Aug. 24 should plan to do so with their parent/guardian on that first class day to fill out paperwork.

Early Childhood Learning Center has also designed Thursday, Aug 20, for its parent orientation. Pre-kindergartners, and 3-and 4-year-old Head Start students should report to the school between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. that day. Kindergartners and transitional first graders should report between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Parent orientation at the elementary campuses and Douglas Intermediate School is not slated until the second week of September. SSMS and Sulphur Springs High School will also host open house in mid September.
