The Winnsboro Chapter of the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center will holds its second annual “Celebrate the Child” ladies dinner benefit from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, at First Baptist Church of Winnsboro.

The center’s Winnsboro volunteer chapter has organized an evening of dinner, words of inspiration, door prizes and fun. Several local sponsors have underwritten the cost of the benefit, and 100 percent of ticket proceeds will go directly to the child advocacy center. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Seating is limited; RSVP by contacting the center at 903-629-7588 and ask for Jennifer.

The Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center opened in 1998 and serves Camp, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Rains, Titus, Wood and Upshur Counties.

The center provides videotaped forensic interviews, counseling, forensic exams, crisis counseling, court testimony, case tracking, team staffing, training, coordination with other social agencies for client assistance and public education on child abuse awareness. Since its beginning, the center has seen more than 4,000 children and provided services to thousands of other secondary victims of abuse. All services are free of charge to the victims and their non-offending family members as a result of community support through donations and fundraisers along with grants.

The center, an accredited organization of Parents Anonymous, National Children’s Alliance and the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, also provides parent education classes and parent support groups to strengthen families in their core values and patterns of rearing children.
