Relocating to Georgia is ‘new adventure’ for popular News-Telegram feature writer Patti Sells

Patti Sells, the News-Telegram’s feature writer, has decided to move to Savannah, Ga., where her son is stationed with the U.S. Army 75th Ranger Regiment. Sells, who began as an intern with Echo Publishing since May of 2002, has also served as weekend variety editor.

“I have met so many wonderful and interesting people that I would have never come to know otherwise, and my co-workers have become like family to me in many ways, laughing and crying with me throughout the years,” Sells said. “I have loved working in community journalism and have learned so much as feature writer and weekend variety editor. My time here has been amazing and truly a worthwhile experience I will forever be grateful for.”

Butch Burney, general manager for Echo Publishing, praised Sells for her contribution to the newspaper through the years.

“Patti has a unique style of writing that puts a human touch to her stories. Her work was some of the most widely read in the newspaper,” Burney said. “She’s been a valuable employee in addition to being a well-liked and well-respected member of the News-Telegram family. We’ll miss her and wish her all the best in this next step of her life.”

Sells says that her decision to leave the paper and her community brings mixed emotions.

“I will be embarking on a new adventure in life,” she said. “I have no idea what the good Lord has in store for me, but am trusting that He has a plan for my life and has paved the way for my relocation. Keep me in y
