Hopkins County Christian Alliance will be hosting a hamburger and hot dog cookout honoring men and women of service Tuesday, June 23, at the CANHelp Community Resource Center, 613 Gilmer St., from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Police, firemen, sheriff’s department employees, emergency medical service personnel and those with the Department of Public Safety are invited to come by for a free lunch, according to C.J. Duffey, pastor of Color Blind Ministries.

“This is our way of showing how much we appreciate them,”said Duffey on behalf of the HCCA, made up of area pastors. “We would love to thank them for their service to the community and let them know we are praying for them and standing behind them.”

Bibles, donated by the Gideon’s, will also be presented as a small token of appreciation for employees of Hopkins County and Sulphur Springs who attend the event.

Duffey encourages all community service employees to stop by for free food and fellowship.
