North Hopkins ISD race: Three file for two seats

E-mail Print PDF

With only 2 weeks left during the filing period, one school district announced a contested race for its May 9 school trustees election. As of Feb. 23, three people had signed up to run for two full term seats on North Hopkins Independent School District’s board of trustees. Both incumbents, Robert Whaley and Robert McPherson, have turned in their applications to run in the May 9 election. They are challenged in their bid for re-election by Larry Spradlin, county extension agent.

North Hopkins’ candidate filing to get on the ballot for both seats on that school board is being conducted weekdays during regular school business hours through March 8, and until 5 p.m. March 9, in the front office at the school.

The three-year seats on the board will be awarded to the two candidates receiving the most votes in the May 9 election.
