The Sulphur Springs Symphony League will host the Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra’s (NETSO) 16th Annual Children’s Concert on Friday, Jan. 31, beginning at 1 p.m. at Hopkins County Regional Civic Center.

Third, fourth and fifth graders from Hopkins County public and private schools are invited to attend the concert.
Two highlights of this year’s concert are the performance of the famous arrangement of Peter and the Wolf, as well as a marimba concert by Dr. Brian Zator.
NETSO Conductor Dr. Doug Bakenhus has designed a musical program which will involve the students and help them to learn how music can be used to express emotions and tell a story.
A select group of Sulphur Springs High School strings students will be performing with the professional musicians for one of the selections.
“What a great opportunity for our students to get to practice and perform with the NETSO,” said league president Kayla Price.
