Sulphur Springs will be back on television Tuesday evening when the History Channel broadcasts a special that will include a fully restored and operational popcorn machine, according to Gus Gustafson in the city’s Community Development Department.
“Our local folks, Jeremy and Lisa Hampton of Sweet-N-Salty, had a retro 1970s popcorn maker they sent to American Restorations and they did a little 'old timey' restoration on it,” Gustafson said. “It's going to be televised on the History Channel Tuesday evening at 9 p.m.”
Gustafson said the city would have their giant screen set up on Celebration Plaza for the premier showing.
“Sweet-N-Salty will be there giving away some popcorn and promoting the event themselves,” he said. “Sweet-N-Salty's 1970s popcorn machine will be rolling in for an old-timey tune-up.”
