Sulphur Springs police early Wednesday morning investigated a report of a possible abduction of a female by two men in a red truck.

A man reportedly made contact with a patrol officer at 1:06 a.m. at the corner of Moore and Main Streets. He told police he believed he witnessed a female being abducted from an apartment parking lot on Moore Street just off Main Street, according to the police report.

The man said three men — two white men and a Hispanic male — approached the female, then one grabbed her. The pair appeared to struggle. The man put his hand over the female’s mouth; the other two appeared to be trying to block view of the incident with their bodies. She was forced into the vehicle, which the complainant said he last saw headed east on Main Street, officers noted on the report.

Police attempted to locate a vehicle matching the description given by the man, but were unsuccessful in finding one in the area based on the limited information the man was able to give. Police were still trying to verify the information and had yet to find any leads further regarding the report midmorning Wednesday.
