Lighted Christmas Parade winners announced

    The Lions Club recognized four businesses, three groups and a school for their winning entries in Thursday night’s Lighted Christmas Parade.

    The school award was presented to Saundea Monk, representing Como-Pickton Elementary.
    Arvis Tanton was presented the first place large business award for Carriage House Manor’s entry.
    Alan Screws’ North Pole of Texas entry won first place honors in the non-profit parade conveyance category. Second place in non profits went to Jason Reneau, representing Sulphur Springs Law Enforcement. Third place non-profit honors went to Melanie Bailey for Trinity Harvest Church.
    The top small business float award went to Charlie Usry, Discount Wheel and Tire representative. Second place in small business went to Fix and Feed-Sulphur Springs; Bradley Hauer was representing the business. Karen McMahan’s Re/Max Advance won third place in small business parade category.
    The parade was judged by members of the Canton Lions Club.
    The Lions Club recognized Duncan Disposal/Republic Services, Carriage House Manor, Farmers Electric Coop, Alliance Bank and City National Bank, as sponsors who “helped put on the parade.”
