Two people were airlifted to hospitals in Tyler and Dallas after what was said to be a head-on collision between two all-terrain vehicles.
The collision was reported at 10:01 p.m. on County Road 4763, about one-half mile off of State Highway 19.
Four sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident, along with officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and personnel from  Hopkins County Fire Department and North Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department.
Both of the injured people involved in the crash, identified only as Mark Davenport and Leon Hosey in dispatcher reports, were in a ditch when emergency personnel arrived.     Mark Davenport was taken by helicopter to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, and Leon Hosey was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Their conditions were unknown at press time.
