Services are set Saturday in New Boston for Paul Woodruff, the Good Samaritan who died Tuesday from injuries sustained when he stopped to help stranded motorists on Interstate 30.
Woodruff, 44, from New Boston, was pinned under a vehicle on Thursday, Nov. 14, as he attempted to change a flat tire for a vehicle on the shoulder of I-30. A truck driver with JB Hunt, Woodruff had stopped to help a couple change the tire. The vehicle slipped off the jack and fell on Woodruff, trapping him until help could arrive.
Woodruff was taken to Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to a Tyler hospital. He remained hospitalized until he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bates-Rolf Funeral Home Chapel in New Boston.
He is survived by a wife, KiAnn Woodruff, two sons and two daughters.
