The Beta Club at Sulphur Bluff school will be hosting a “special patient blood drive” Wednesday, Feb. 25, to benefit a former student and friend of the school.
The drive, which will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, will benefit Darrell Deaton.
Deaton once attended school at Sulphur Bluff, and his children and grandchildren have also attended the school. His youngest grandchild is currently enrolled at Sulphur Bluff school.
The blood drive beneficiary is described as a private person, and his family asks that, out of respect for him, further details about his medical condition and personal life not be disclosed at this time.
Carter BloodCare will be conducting the blood drive. For more information, contact Janiece Joslin at 903-945-2460, ext. 3012.
