U.S. Navy band to play free concert at TAMU-Commerce

C0MMERCE, Texas - A free concert by the U.S. Navy Band is coming to Texas A&M-Commerce on Monday, March 2. The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. in Ferguson Auditorium,  and the public is invited.

This performance by the Navy's premier musical organization is part of the Navy Band's national tour.

The band has performed at 19 presidential inaugurations and frequently at the White House, capitol building, and other locations in Washington, D.C.

Directed by Capt. George N. Thompson, the band will present a variety of popular and classical favorites. To close the concert, members of several local high school bands will join the Navy Band on stage to perform John Philip Sousa's "Washington Post March."

Admission is free, but tickets are required and are available by calling 903-886-5400. Any unclaimed seats will be available to those without tickets just prior to the concert time.
