Bessonett, Lester top MG 8th graders

Miller Grove Junior High has announced Kayleigh Lester as salutatorian and Aleigh Bessonett as valedictorian of the 8th Grade Class.


Bessonett is the daughter of Bill and Cherrie Bessonett, and sister of Jorja and Titus Bessonett.

She is very active in 4-H, Brashear Baptist Church Youth group and Miller Grove Junior FFA. She earned recognition as an “outstanding intermediate 4-H member.”

Bessonett was also a regional science fair qualifier, competed in academic UIL and recognized for making the A Honor Roll.

She plays basketball and softball, and runs cross country and track.

Bessonett’s interests include sports, family, Pinteresting, showing goats and community service.

Salutatorian Kayleigh Lester is the daughter of Russell and Maria Lester, and sister of Trey, Drew and Anthony Lester.

She is also active in 4-H and sports as well as Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.   Lester plays basketball, volleyball and softball, and runs cross country and track.

She was recognized for making the A Honor Roll.

Lester’s benefits include basketball, cooking, baking, babysitting and spending time with friends.

Bessonett and Lester will be honored along with the other members of their class with a graduation Thursday, June 6, in Miller Grove gym. Candace Earp will give the invocation and Alex Zeigler the benediction. Russell McQueen will introduce speaker Callie Glover. Lester and Bessonett will give their salutatory and valedictory address. Kim Irby will present awards and MGISD President Eric Mabe will present diplomas. Kaleigh Poteet, Macie Gilbreath, Coltin Morrison and Jacob Jenkins will serve as ushers.
