Some of the top citizens in Hopkins County will be honored Thursday night at the 87th Annual Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, it will be “a relaxing casual evening of entertainment, great food and the recognition of some well-deserved businesses and individuals,” said Chamber President Meredith Caddell.
She is asking attendees to come dressed for a luau, which is the evening’s theme.
This year, the chamber’s Education Committee will be giving awards for an Outstanding Professional Educator, Outstanding Paraprofessional Educator and Outstanding Auxiliary Educator.
Those awards will be presented along with the annual Citizen of the Year, sponsored by Echo Publishing; Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi; Caregiver of the Year by the Pilot Club; Community Pride Award presented by the Adult Leadership Class; and Agriculturist of the Year, sponsored by the Professional Ag Workers.
Awards will also be presented for Large Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year.
In each case, nominations were accepted from the public.
