“She went off walking and could be anywhere,” the sheriff said. “Normally, she would stay around the area here.”
Adams said the woman, 44, was visiting her parents when she disappeared and a multi-agency search was begun.
“Department of Public Safety, DPS helicopter and Texas Department of Criminal Justice dog handlers did a search last night and returned this morning,” Adams said just before noon. “Right now, we've got fire academy cadets doing a search of the land around us. Pretty much, right now, we are hoping she is still around.”
Adams said the woman was last seen wearing a multi-colored shirt. It was unknown what other articles of clothing she wore.
“She is normally a blonde, but they said she might have made it where she was kind of brown-headed,” he said. “She is of medium height and is from the Dallas area so she is not really familiar with everything around here.”
Anyone who might have seen the woman shouldcontact the sheriff's of at 903-438-4040 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
