Grand jury returns indictments in 54 cases

A Hopkins County Grand Jury during its August session pushed forward for further prosecution at least 54 cases against 41 people.
Charges ranged from sexual assault of a child to trademark counterfeiting, fraud and forgery, but most involved controlled substance and marijuana possession or delivery.
Jaspen Quayshawn Debase was indicted on two single-count indictments alleging sexual assault of a child and on three indictments alleging three counts each of sexual assault of a child, that is each of the three indictments alleges three separate sexual acts on the same day. All documents list the same victim, a child who was less than 14 years of age at the time of the allegations. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in May and April.
Justin Keith Weaver was indicted for evading arrest. He was accused in March of fleeing from Sulphur Springs Police Lt. Jason Ricketson, who was attempting to lawfully arrest or detain him.
Indicted for assault or injury to others included: Albert Lee Lewis, assault family violence-impeding breathing or circulation of a female family member by applying pressure to her neck on June 2; Neal Curtis Brown, injury to an elderly person by choking a woman age 65 or older on June 5,; and Dennis Edward Prox, for assault family violence by slapping the face of a person with whom he has or had a dating relationship on Feb. 20, a charge enhanced to a felony due to a previous conviction for an offense against a family member.
Several people were indicted for charges alleging offenses intended to steal or defraud others. They included:
  • Brenda Reyes-Mora — credit or debit card abuse, for allegedly using a man’s credit card on July 3, 2011
  • Gary Dub Lynch — forgery of a woman’s check for $639 in charges made to A Bee C Inc. in Dallas on May 1
  • Steven Ray King — fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, specifically possession of a man’s driver’s license, driver’s licenses belonging to two different women, a woman’s debit card, a man’s company credit card, another credit card with no name on it and a Lone Star card, all on May 3
  • Casie Dawn Caldwell — fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, specifically 10 items of identifying information belonging to a man, including the man’s driver’s license, Social Security card and debit card, on March 3
  • Howard Lee Rodgers — trademark counterfeiting by intentionally selling a counterfeit mark, the retail value of which was $1,500 or more but less than $20,000, on Jan. 7
  • Terry Shane Davis — burglary of a building with intent to steal a rifle, shotgun, fishing rods and a gas can, Jan. 14
Among those indicted on controlled substance and marijuana charges were:
  • Victoria Ilene Wright — delivery of less than 28 grams of the controlled substance Klonopin, on Sept. 29, 2010
  • Norman Lee Owen — possession of less than 1 gram of methamphetamine on April 16, 2010
  • Berida Mae Williams — possession of less than 1 gram of cocaine on Sept. 21, 2009
  • Jarvis James Stubblefield, two indictments — possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of Oxicodeine on Oct. 5, 2010; and possession of less than 1 gram of the controlled substance Lisdesamphetamine, Oct. 5, 2010.
  • Danielle Sacie Weatherford, two indictments — possession at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of methamphetmine, May 11, 2010; and possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of cocaine, May 11, 2010
  • Stacey Lynn Serenko — possession of at least 1 gram but less than 4 grams of methamphetamine, Dec. 3, 2010
  • Teresa Jan Levine — possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, Jan. 21, 2010
  • Billie Earl Johnson — possession of less than 1 gram of methamphetamine, Dec. 3, 2010
  • James Tyler Huffman, two indictments — possession of less than 1 gram of Lisdexamphetamine, Oct. 5, 2010; and possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of Oxicodeine, Oct. 5, 2010
  • Juan Carlos Gomez — possession of less than 1 gram of cocaine, June 3, 2010
  • Jennifer Lane Fluellen — possession of less than 1 gram of methamphetamine, Feb. 27, 2011
  • William Ray Elliott — possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of the controlled substance Dihydrocodeine1, May 21, 2010
  • Damon Lee Burke — possession at least 1 gram meth, Sept. 10, 2010
  • Jeremy Bassford — possession or transport of certain chemicals, pseudoephredrine, with intent to manufacture the controlled substance meth, Jan. 1, 2010
  • Timothy Lee Barnum, two indictments — possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of cocaine, May 11, 2010; and possession at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of meth, May 11, 2010
  • Darrel Wayne Barker, two indictments — possession at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams meth, May 26; and possession of more than 5 pounds but no more than 50 pounds of marijuana, May 26
  • Polly Ann Rickey, two indictments — possession of at least 4 grams but less than 200 grams of meth, May 26; and possession more than 5 pounds but no more than 50 pounds of marijuana, May 26
  • Jacinto Tobias Maldonado, two indictments — possession of 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams cocaine, July 7; and possession of 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams of meth, July 7
  • Emmitt George Wylie III — possession of more than 5 pounds but no more than 50 pounds of marijuana, Nov. 13, 2010
  • Dennis Renaldo Sculark — possession more than 5 pounds but no more than 50 pounds of marijuana, March 16, 2010
  • Dewayne Markeath Sculark — possession more than 5 pounds but no more than 50 pounds of marijuana, March 16, 2010
  • Tina Marie Richey — possession more than 4 ounces but no more than 5 pounds of marijuana, March 23
  • Tisha Gean Rigdon — possession 5 pounds or less but more than 4 ounces of marijuana, March 23
  • Juwan Tyrae Matthews — possession 5 pounds or less but more than 4 ounces of marijuana, Jun 14, 2010
  • Eddie James III, possession 5 pounds or less but more than 4 ounces marijuana, April 2
  • Cervando Bustos — possession 50 pounds or less but more than 5 pounds marijuana, May  24
