Sulphur Springs Independent School District trustees Monday approved hiring a Commerce native to fill the principals’ post at Sulphur Springs High School.


Wildcats invade Time Square

Sulphur Springs High School drama teacher Dawn Doyle and her students take a break in Times Square during their whirlwind trip to New York City from June 21 through June 24. While there, the group saw Broadway shows “The Lion King,” “Phantom of the Opera,” and “Chicago,” along with a number of Big Apple landmarks, including the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Central Park and a tour of NBC studios. School board has full agenda tonight: Personnel, bids and renovations top list

Hiring of a person to serve as high school principal, bids for revised guaranteed maximum price for additional classrooms at Douglas Intermediate School and renovations at the existing middle school are among the items Sulphur Springs school trustees are being asked to consider tonight.


Intense search continues for missing woman

Investigators said the intense search is continuing for a 33-year-old Sulphur Springs woman who has been missing for more than a month.


Child, 9, drowns in Commerce city pool over the weekend

A late-night trip to the city of Commerce swimming pool ended tragically with the discovery of the body of nine-year-old Diamond Bronston at the bottom of the pool early Sunday.
