Christmas Parade postponed due to weather

December 1, 2011 - A potential for rain this weekend has caused the Sulphur Springs Lions Club to postpone their lighted Christmas parade, originally scheduled for this Saturday, until the following Saturday, Dec. 9, according to Lions Club spokesman Josh Goodman.

Members of the North East Texas Choral Society rehearse Monday night for their upcoming Christmas concert, “Believe!” to be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. The concert promises to be full of “soaring music of the timeless Christmas story that will bring the glow of peace and joy to each and every heart.” Tickets are $10 in advance and $11 at the door, and are available from NETCS members, local banks or at the group’s website, www.netchoral.org.
