Blue Santa program aims high, sets $25K goal

Local law enforcement officials are hoping to raise at least $25,000 to put toward toys for the Hopkins County children on Blue Santa’s list this year. The proceeds will be spent at Hopkins County businesses on toys for the 575 children already on Blue Santa’s Christmas list, which is expected to grow to at least 600 before the Dec. 18 distribution.


County seeking city support for signal light

Members of Hopkins County Commissioners Court will appear before Sulphur Springs City Council during Tuesday night’s regular council meeting to ask for the council’s support of a signal light at the intersection of West Posey Lane [State Highway 11 extension] and FM 2297 [Arbala Road/League Street.


Two hospitalized after Saturday fire on CR 2399

Two people were transported to the hospital to be checked out following a fire which damaged their attic Saturday afternoon.
