East Texas Wildfires About 30,000 acres burned in Cass, Marion counties

LINDEN — Texas Forest Service officials estimated that as much as 30,000 acres of timber and pasture in Cass and Marion counties had been scorched by wildfires by Tuesday evening.

Approximately 600 acres of pasture and woodland in Southwest Hopkins County and an old store in Nelta burned over the weekend, but no other buildings were reported to have been lost to the fires, and no serious injuries were reported.
