Cover Girl Royalty

County adopts hotel tax, budget, tax rate

With less than two weeks before the deadline, Hopkins County Commissioners Court adopted a $14.2 million budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, and set the tax rate at 56 cents per $100 property valuation.


County falls from top 10 in milk output

Say it ain’t so. Alas, it is.

After decades as the leader of the pack in dairy production, Hopkins County has ignominiously fallen out of the top 10 in the Lone Star State for milk output.


DPS seizes almost $650,000 in cocaine on Interstate 30

State troopers seized $649,175 worth of cocaine and arrested two women on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 30 Wednesday afternoon.
