North Hopkins School will be having "Open House" and a talent show Thursday night, starting at 6 p.m. The North Hopkins softball tournament is scheduled for Thursday and Saturday, weather permitting. Students and staff are looking forward to spring break next week.

A pancake breakfast will be held in the North Hopkins School cafeteria this Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The proceeds will benefit the juniors and seniors for their "Stay Safe After Prom Party." The cost is $5 per person ages 13 and up and $3 for 12 and under.

Judy Roberts just returned from spending 12 days in Detroit, Mich., for training with the University of Michigan. While there she rode the "people mover" and walked along the river that separates Michigan from Canada. It snowed there for about eight of the days and she is glad to be back home.

Floyd and Martha Payton enjoyed a trip to Victoria to visit their daughter Regina. She was busy getting moved into her newly purchased home. Her friend Sandra Oshman came from Port Aransas for an overnight visit. Martha reports, "After a days work on Saturday, we enjoyed a home cooked dinner of lasagna with trimmings." She says, "The countryside is very pretty with blooming plum trees, peach trees and jonquils."

Suzan Miller and Sandra Wester went to Longview on Thursday to attend a high school softball tournament. Temple High School was one of the teams in the tournament and Chelsea Jeter plays for that team. They met Mary Lou, Joe and Jill Jeter at the ballpark. After the games, they went to Henderson to the home of Linda Andrasko. They attended more games on Friday and Saturday. After the games on Saturday, the Jeters headed to Temple in order to arrive at the school in time to pick up Chelsea when the bus arrived. Linda, Suzan and Sandra ate at Carino's and then went back to Henderson. They played a fun game of Rummikub until bedtime. Suzan and Sandra returned home on Sunday.

My daughter, Tiffany Joslin and I shopped in Sulphur Springs, Greenville and Rockwall on Saturday. Malcolm and the boys went to the flea market in Paris and Jaidyn spent the day with Kayla Williams.

Don't forget to "spring forward" an hour on Sunday, as we move into Daylight Savings Time.
