We want to express our sympathy to the family of Ioma Winkle. Her graveside service was conducted on Tuesday afternoon at the Tira Cemetery.
Melissa Wischerman had wonderful results at the “America the Beautiful Meet” hosted by Sulphur Springs Gymnastics. Melissa is a “Level 6, Division 1” gymnast. She placed first with her vault, beam, and floor routines and second in bars. She earned first place all-around with a score of 37.475. Her mother, Candy, reports that the meet was “to honor our military and to say thank you for serving our country.”
Wesley Weir played basketball with the Upwards League for the last time this season on Saturday. The Pilot Club gave the kids trophies and basketballs. They also had cheerleaders there to root for them. Yvonne says, “He has had a great time for the last four Saturday mornings.” Yvonne spent Tuesday night with Dacy and Elise Campbell in Royse City, and she kept Elise on Wednesday.
Chip and I were in Dallas on Saturday visiting Chip's sister, Linda Vaughn. Chip worked on home repairs for her. Our son, Delayne Vaughn, drove up from Waco that afternoon and we all went to TGI Friday's for dinner for Chip's birthday, and then Delayne and Linda went to the Winspear Opera House for a performance of "Don Pasquale." Chip and I did a little shopping in Mesquite before returning home. Chip celebrated again on Monday night (his actual birthday) when Malcolm, Tiffany, Landon, Morgan, Kenden, and Jaidyn Joslin joined us for a special dinner and dessert.
