Joyce Goldsmith reports the Birthright United Methodist Church Fall Festival was a huge success. “We would like to thank everyone who came and participated in the meal and auction, also the ones who donated auction items and the ones who purchased items,” she said. “We raised over $5,000 for missions and scholarships. The food and fellowship was wonderful. Thanks again!”
The Cooper High School Class of 1948 has a class reunion scheduled for this Saturday at the Tira Community Center.
The North Hopkins School Alumni Association Annual Homecoming will be held in the school cafeteria on Saturday, Nov. 7. Registration and visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a barbecue dinner and a program. Cost for the meal is $8.50 and is payable at the door. The Class of 1959 will be honored for their 50-year reunion. Door prizes will be awarded. All former students and their families are encouraged to attend.
Laura Berry recently participated in a spiritual renewal program, “Walk to Emmaus.” She says, “It was a really enjoyable four days and an incredible experience!” On Oct. 17, Laura and her daughter, Meagen Berry, enjoyed hearing The Volunteers of the U.S. Army Field Band in downtown Sulphur Springs and report that “the band was awesome!”
It must have been another slow week in Tira. I hope to have more news to report next week.
