The annual Horn Family Reunion was held at the Tira Community Center on Saturday. Twenty-four family members gathered and enjoyed visiting, looking at photographs and eating. They also played some games, had a silent auction, and held a business meeting. The dessert contest was won by Kelly Cory and Gae Lou Haley. Dorreice Shuptrine and Gae Lou won the “Name That Baby” contest by identifying the most people from looking at their baby pictures. The family always gathers for a time of worship. Doug Burkham led the group in singing some of the old familiar hymns. Doris Moon, Leo Horn Jr. and Doug also sang a few special songs. Delayne Vaughn played a piano solo, and Doug Haley gave a devotional message. A good time was had by all.
Jaidyn Joslin celebrated her first birthday at the Tira Community Center on Sunday. She was joined by 39 guests who were treated to hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch. The theme of her party was Care Bears, and her cake was a four-tiered arrangement of cupcakes and decorations, all in pink, of course! She received many nice gifts. Jaidyn’s parents are Malcolm and Tiffany Joslin
