Shirley Glossup would like to let everyone know that the North Hopkins Cemetery Association will be having a business meeting on Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the cemetery chapel.

The Tira Volunteer Fire Department Chili Supper was held on Saturday evening. Joyce Dodd comments, “Kudos to the Tira VFD. The chili was great. We have some good firefighting cooks,” and I would like to echo her sentiments.

Tanya and Matthew Dodd and John David and Jewel Jetton went to Kentucky this week for the birth of Dakota Cheyenne Lawwill, daughter of Blaine and Heather Lawwill. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. They will bring her brother, Jayden, and sister, Lilly, back to Texas to stay with them for a week or so. Proud grandparents are Brad and Tanya Dodd and great-grandparents John David and Jewel Jetton and William and Joyce Dodd.

Sandra Wester enjoyed lunch at Swamp Pots on Thursday with Wynelle Belz, Virginia Julie Miller and Gale Milligan. She went to visit Kelly Lawrence at her new home in McKinney on Sunday. Linda Andrasko and Chelsea Jeter were also visiting Kelly. Karyn Horne and her friend, Emily, came over Sunday afternoon and everyone went to lunch at Fuzzy's Taco. Chelsea returned to Denton Sunday night. Sandra and Linda shopped a while Monday evening and then visited Karyn and Steve Horne. After returning to Kelly's, they enjoyed the dinner Kelly had prepared. Karyn and Kelly's friend, Daniel Alexander, joined them for dinner. Sandra left Tuesday morning and met friends for lunch at Juan Pablo's in Sulphur Springs. Wynelle Belz, Catheron Camper, Virginia Julie Miller, Gale Milligan, Betty Weir and Jonell Willis were there to celebrate Mary Sue Clayton's birthday. Mary Sue's sister, Jo Marie, daughter Becky, and two grandsons also joined in the celebration.
