Rob, Brad, Tanya and Matthew Dodd; Tonja Jones; Maegan, Alyssa, Gavin and Ethan Shelton joined William and Joyce Dodd for stew for Easter lunch. Michael McNiel came on Monday to visit William and Joyce and William's mom and brother, Dorothy Hurley and Charles Rhoades.

Destri Weir came to visit Robert, Yvonne and Wesley Weir on Saturday night. On Sunday, they all went to Dacy Campbell's house and Dustin and Natalie Weir met them there to celebrate Easter with Dacy and her family.

Robert, Wesley, Dacy, Elise and Eli enjoyed an outing to the circus in Caddo Mills on Monday.

Sandra Wester enjoyed lunch on Thursday with Carolyn Miller at Ruby Tuesday in Rockwall. Thursday evening, she went to watch Daylee Fite and her team at their softball practice.

Tiffany Durst reports, “I am pleased to announce that I have finally taken the leap and started a photography business. All outdoor pictures. Tira has some beautiful places in it, and I plan on capturing memories in the beauty that God made!”

Guests for Easter lunch with Mick and Linda Petty were James, Hesston and Reagan Humphrey and Fay Burns of Sulphur Springs; Rick and Judy Petty, Bill Clayton and Betty Lawson of Tira; and Ronnie, Amy, Mitchell and Macy Green of Cooper. Linda comments, “Good food and family.”

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office D.A.R.E. Sgt. Brad Cummings reports that a “drug take back” will be held on Saturday, April 27, at Brookshire's. Everyone is encouraged to bring their unwanted prescriptions and over-the-counter medications to be disposed of by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Previous events have resulted in local law enforcement officers collecting about 400 pounds of unwanted drugs.

Grace Vaughn and Landon Joslin had lunch with us on Easter Sunday. Landon, Laiken, and Rylan celebrated Easter with Laiken's family on Sunday evening. Malcolm, Tiffany, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin took Morgan Joslin to C.A.P. camp in Nacogdoches on Friday afternoon. Malcolm, Tiffany and the kids spent the weekend at The Villages resort on Lake Palestine. They enjoyed the indoor water park on Saturday, and then they returned to Nacogdoches on Sunday to pick up Morgan. On Thursday afternoon, Morgan was among the North Hopkins athletes who participated in the track meet at Chisum High School. He came in second in the 800 meters and fifth in the 3200 meters.

The North Hopkins High School baseball team will be playing against Yantis at home this Thursday, April 4, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
