On Saturday Graci and Tinley Adair had a swimming party at their Nana and Baba's home (that's Sherry and Powell to the rest of us).

Those attending were Graci, Tinley, Korbyn, Justin and Shelley Adair, Ann May, Kay Smith, along with Brianna and Avery, Chris, Ally, Brayden and Emma Vickery, Steven, Cheryl, Madison, Bryson, Ethan and Owen Vickery, Bobby, Carley, Garrett, Payton and Braely Vickery, Sherry Smiddy, Powell Vickery, and Daylee Fite. Sherry says, “Two birthdays, lots of pizza, two cakes and lots of fun…but how do those kids swim in that cold water?”
    Robby Dodd celebrated his 42nd birthday with lunch at Joyce and William Dodd's home on Sunday. Maegan, Alyssa, Gavin, and Ethan Shelton spent the weekend with Maegan's dad and his wife, Jean, and Mandi Owens in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Von and Janie Prahl visited Helen Weir on Saturday. Helen's granddaughter, Dana, spent the weekend with her and Mary Helen.
    Reagan Humphrey, Mick and Linda Petty's granddaughter, will be attending Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. Mick and Linda, along with Reagan's mother, Shelly, and brother, Caleb, helped her move into her dorm last week.
    Karyn Horne and Kelly Lawrence visited with Sandra Wester last week and took her to medical appointments in Dallas. They enjoyed a late lunch at Gloria's on Tuesday. Linda Andrasko came to visit on Thursday. Karyn returned home on Friday and Kelly, Linda and Sandra enjoyed a late lunch at Mi Cocina in Rockwall after a medical appointment on Friday. They enjoyed a quiet weekend.
    North Hopkins School is hosting a “Meet the Teacher” night at 6:30 this Thursday. Students return to classes on Monday, August the 27th.
    The only ones to file for a place on the Tira City Council were current council members - Sandra Wester, Powell Vickery, and Malcolm Joslin, so no election will be required.
