Floyd and Martha Payton enjoyed a visit from their daughter, Regina Payton, on Thursday evening through Sunday morning. They stayed home most of the time but did go out for lunch at Furr's on Saturday.
Martha reports, “Chet Hilyer from Paris was the guest speaker at the Tira Methodist Church while our pastor was out on a 'Walk to Emmaus.' We were also blessed with six visitors.”
Yvonne Weir and Debra Campbell (Dacy's mother-in-law) went to Austin for the "Country Living Fair" over the weekend. Yvonne says that they “had a blast shopping.” Wesley and Robert went to Buddy Baseball in Paris.
Sandra Wester attended Daylee Fite's softball game Saturday afternoon in Sulphur Springs. After the game, she went with Daylee and Chanse Fite, Brandi Day, Sherry Smiddy and Powell Vickery to eat at El Charro. On Tuesday morning, Sandra enjoyed breakfast and visiting with Jimmy and Barbara Anderson at The Red Barn in Sulphur Springs.
Morgan Joslin, son of Malcolm and Tiffany Joslin, along with other members of the Civil Air Patrol Color Guard, went to Addison for the Texas Wing Conference over the weekend. They attended the cadet ball on Friday evening and then posted the colors (flags) at the session on Saturday morning. They also had the opportunity to serve as color guard for the Air Force Chief of Staff that day. On Saturday night they attended a banquet, where they posted the colors again and awards were handed out. They returned home on Sunday afternoon.
Chip and I visited our friend, David Stewart, and his roommates at their Deaf Action Center apartment in Dallas on Saturday morning, and then we met our son, Delayne Vaughn, for lunch at Pappadeaux. Delayne had driven to Dallas to attend the opera that night. After lunch, Chip and I stopped by to visit with Chip's sister, Linda Ellen Vaughn for a few minutes before she left on a mission trip to Peru with a group from her church. On Sunday, we hosted a birthday lunch for our grandson, Landon Joslin. Others joining us for hamburgers and birthday cake in celebration of his 18th birthday were Laiken Gammill and Rylan; Malcolm, Tiffany, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin; and Grace Vaughn. Landon is working with Chip in the oil field, and they enjoyed lunch at Chili's on Monday (Landon's actual birthday).
