Danny and Judy Rawson of Denton spent last Wednesday and Thursday nights with Danny’s mother, Mary Rawson. Judy and Mary made a trip to Paris and while there enjoyed a nice lunch of

Mexican food.

Regina Payton from Victoria visited with her parents, Floyd and Martha Payton, Thursday evening through Sunday morning. Martha says, “The temperature is so hot we had lunch out on Saturday, did a lot of reading and stayed cool. She was looking forward to a good rain from hurricane Don, but the weather pattern changed that.”

Tommy and Patti Wiebold traveled to Hide Away Lake on Saturday for a visit with friends. They got an early start so they could stop off at the Farmer's Market and buy some fresh produce, as Patti said she has decided to give her garden to the grasshoppers. They arrived at the home of Kevin and Cindy Pontias on Saturday afternoon and were joined by Kevin and Cindy's daughters, Stephanie and Christine. Also in attendance was Mark Maslonka, a mutual friend from Coleman, Okla. Kevin prepared a wonderful brisket and they had fresh corn on the cob and potato salad; Patti brought some of the fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and onions that she had bought earlier in the day. They returned home late Saturday evening. Although they got some rain on the way home, they were disappointed to find that the rain did not make it to Tira.

Sandra Wester enjoyed lunch and visiting with Carolyn Miller at the Fish Camp restaurant in Royse City on Thursday. Before returning home she visited Barbara Jetton, her mother, Betty, and sister, LaRetta, at their home outside Royse City. Sandra's sister, Linda Andrasko, came to visit Sunday evening. They went to Dallas Monday morning, enjoyed lunch at Ruby Tuesday at the Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard, and made a brief stop at Stein Mart before returning home. Linda returned to Henderson Tuesday afternoon.

Delayne Vaughn of Waco spent Saturday and Sunday with us. Grace Vaughn of Sulphur Springs was here, too. John and Linda Vaughn visited us on Saturday afternoon. That night Malcolm, Tiffany, Landon, Morgan, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin joined us for dinner in celebration of Delayne's and Malcolm's birthdays, which were coming up on Aug. 1 and 4.
