Tira volunteer firefighters responded to a truck fire on Friday. An 18-wheeler burned on State Highway 19 north and caused the road to be blocked for hours.

Make plans to attend the Tira Homecoming, which is coming up on July 3. A program and business meeting will be held in the Tira Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with a potluck lunch on the grounds to follow.

William and Joyce Dodd’s family joined them for lunch on Sunday in celebration of Father’s Day. Joyce also reports that her great-grandson, Gavin Shelton, had surgery on Tuesday, to set his broken nose. Janie and Von Prahl visited Helen Weir on Sunday.

Sandra Wester enjoyed breakfast and visiting with Jimmy and Barbara Anderson and Porter Woods at the Red Barn Cafe in Sulphur Springs Friday morning.

I noticed a banner announcing the Hillis family reunion over the weekend. I don’t have any details but would be happy to include the information next week if someone from the group will let me know.

Malcolm, Tiffany, Morgan, Kenden and Jaidyn Joslin brought hamburger fixings to our house on Saturday evening for an early Father's Day meal. Grace Vaughn, Chip's mother, had lunch with us on Sunday, along with Malcolm and his family. Grace spent the afternoon with us and then went to visit John and Linda Vaughn and their family.
