Tanya and Matthew Dodd have returned from a trip to Kentucky, where they met Tanya’s son, Blaine Lawwill, who had flown in from Afghanistan. He is scheduled to be in Kentucky for 15 months before finding out where he will be sent next. Tanya’s sister, Yolanda, also went with them. They took furniture and helped Brian get moved in.

Regina Payton from Victoria visited Thursday through Sunday morning with her parents Floyd and Martha Payton. On Friday they made a trip to Keller to visit and have lunch with Brad and Virginia Payton at the Cotton Patch Cafe. After lunch they visited with their longtime friends Cliff and Albina Henson, also of Keller. Martha says, “Saturday was a good day for a nice walk and a stroll through the woods to see the dogwood in full bloom. We had a very nice weekend.”

Wesley Weir has been busy this week. He went to the Special Olympics on Friday in Quitman, and he started the Buddy Baseball season in Paris on Saturday. Yvonne says she “enjoyed a visit from Jan Vaughn on Saturday afternoon.“ Yvonne and her mom, Alice Hall, attended a ladies meeting at Full Gospel House of Prayer on Saturday night. On Sunday Robert, Yvonne, Wesley and Alice attended a birthday party for Dustin and Natalie Weir at Dacy Campbell’s house in Royse City. Destri was there, also.

Sandra Wester went to visit her sister, Linda Andrasko, in Henderson Friday afternoon. They enjoyed visiting and then ate dinner at The Fish House. Linda's daughter, Karyn Lawrence Horne, arrived from McKinney Friday night. Linda and Sandra played several games of SkipBo while waiting for Karyn to arrive. On Saturday afternoon Sandra, Linda, and Karyn went to Donovan's Garden Center, bought plants, and visited with Donovan and his sister. They took the plants to the house and went to downtown Henderson to Donavan's gift shop. It was time for a snack and refreshments so they went back to the house and decided they could continue their shopping on Sunday afternoon. Linda cooked a delicious one dish meal for supper and then they all played several games of SkipBo. Sunday afternoon they made a short shopping trip, Karyn and Linda made hot sandwiches for a late lunch, and then everyone helped Karyn load her plants and Charlie, the dog who had made the trip with her, and she headed back to McKinney. Sandra and Linda played more SkipBo Sunday night, and then Sandra returned home late Monday morning, after a fun visit in Henderson.

Tiffany Joslin and Jan Vaughn were in Hawkins on Monday evening to watch Morgan, along with several other North Hopkins athletes, participate in the district track meet. Morgan placed sixth in the 400-meter dash and third in the 800-meter.
