Some very talented quilters had their handiwork on display. Later they had lunch at Furr's Cafeteria, and then came home for a visit at the Payton farm. Donna and J.R. Durst had as a weekend guest Donna's sister, Karen Fitzhugh, from Larue, Texas. She stayed Thursday night through Saturday night with them. Donna and Karen drove to Mineola and shopped at all the “neat” antique stores. Donna says, "We all went to Cooper and had a delicious hamburger at Big John's on Friday night. We shopped all day in Sulphur Springs on Saturday and then topped the day off by eating at the White Oak Buffet for dinner. Karen left on Sunday afternoon. Of course, we got in a lot of card playing.”

Tommy and Patti Wiebold had their niece, Sara Miller, visit for the weekend. On Friday night Patti's sister, Suzan Miller, and Sandra Wester came over to Tommy and Patti's house for burgers. Patti helped host a wedding shower for her niece, Cassie Miller, on Saturday in Mesquite. Suzan, Sandra and Sara also attended.
