North Hopkins students will return to classes on Monday. Elementary students are invited to meet the teacher and bring supplies this Friday, between 9 and 11 a.m.
Brad, Tanya, Trenton, Matthew, and Joyce Dodd spent last Wednesday through Sunday in Branson. On the way they went by Eureka Springs and visited with Mandy Owens (Joyce's granddaughter). While in Branson they went to Silver Dollar City, the Titanic, and several other museums. They also went to the Baldknobbers music show and they took the "Duck" tour. On Friday, Mandy and a friend drove to Branson and met the group and then they all went to Hollister and toured the College of the Ozarks. Brad, Tanya, Trenton, and Matthew went to the antique car rally on Saturday night. Joyce reports that the Highway 76 Strip and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway were shut down from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. for the event, which included over 500 antique cars.
J.R. and Donna Durst took a trip to Mexia on Saturday to visit J.R.'s Aunt Edna Hancock and her family. Donna says that they "had a really good visit talking over old times."
Sandra Wester enjoyed a visit with Susan and Rick Rogers of Garland Saturday afternoon.
Yvonne Weir and her friend, Colleen McCray, went to a play in Addison on Thursday night. Yvonne spent Saturday night with Dacy Campbell in Royse City. Dustin Weir and Alice Hall visited Robert and Yvonne on Sunday and spent the night with them.
Malcolm Joslin spent last week in Tyler training for his new job at the Monticello coal mine. Chip and I took Morgan, Kenden, and Jaidyn Joslin to Holly Lake Resort on Friday evening. The boys enjoyed playing games and basketball, and then we all swam. We returned home on Saturday morning. Malcolm, Tiffany, and Landon shopped in Paris on Friday evening.
