The Tira City Council will hold their regular quarterly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Tira Community Center. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend.

We want to express our sympathy to Tami Joslin and her family in the loss of her father, Martin W. Cooper, Sr. He passed away on Monday. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulkey Mason Funeral home in Denton, with family night on Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the funeral service on Thursday at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at the North Hopkins Cemetery, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Please remember the family in your prayers.

Jackson Dailey, son of Lee and Kim Beck, is midway through his study abroad at King’s College in London, England. Kim reports that he visited a World War II Veteran’s museum and graveyard in Belgium. She comments, “He is a history major and this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
