TIRA NEWS Nov. 27, 2015

The Tira Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Community Center. We encourage everyone to make plans to come enjoy an evening of good food and fellowship.  Brisket will be provided. Residents should bring sides and desserts. Santa Claus is scheduled to stop by to visit with the children. Also, we will be bringing canned goods (preferably gallon size) for the Meal-a-Day program in Sulphur Springs. 


TIRA NEWS Nov. 20, 2015

Tira City Council members will gather at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Community Center for the regular quarterly meeting. Following the meeting the group will decorate the center for the community Christmas party. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend. 


TIRA NEWS Nov. 8, 2015

We want to express our sympathy to the family of Mamie Lou (Weir) Reaves. Her funeral service was held at the Tira Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon. The community provided a meal for the family at the Community Center, prior to the service. Please remember Lou's husband, Leroy, and the rest of her family in your prayers.

TIRA NEWS Oct. 23, 2015

The North Hopkins Fall Carnival is tonight, Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be lots of games, prizes, food and fun! Pizza and burgers will be available. Also, be sure to stop by the library for the book fair. Following the carnival, at 8 p.m., the junior class invites everyone to come to the school cafeteria and play bingo. A volleyball game will be going on, too. Make plans to come out and support the students.
