On Christmas Eve, Tommy, Carolyn, John and Reid Long hosted the Long Family Christmas. Sammie and Norman Bedford, Frank, Juli and Sam Long, Brian, Jeannie, Austin and Autumn Brewer and Doug Estes were guests for dinner and a gift exchange. On Monday, John had to return to Manvel because the Lady Mavericks are participating in the Alvin Christmas Tournament. Reid had to return to Austin to get ready to leave for San Diego and the Holiday Bowl.

TIRA NEWS for Dec. 21, 2011

The Tira Methodist Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. Martha Payton reports, “Everyone is invited.” She also reports that the Tira and Sulphur Bluff Methodist churches will have a combined service on Sunday, Christmas Day, at the Sulphur Bluff Methodist Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and sweet rolls will be served.

The Tira Community Christmas Party is coming up this Friday evening at 6:30. Brisket will be provided and we will bring side dishes and desserts and enjoy a meal together. We will also be collecting canned goods (preferably gallon size) to donate to the Meal-A-Day program. Santa Claus is expected to drop by to visit with the youngsters (and the young-at-heart!). Make plans to attend and enjoy visiting with your neighbors.
