OK, I know you're not going to believe this, but news is sparse again this week in good old Miller Grove. I'm just not doing a very good job of finding news lately. Lets move right along to my weekly birthday list. Happy birthday to Paul Garrett Jr. on July 27, Julie Smith on July 28, and Rodney Lennon and Virgie Johnson on July 30.
Happy anniversary to Steve and Cathy Rhodes on July 29. I believe this will be their 26th anniversary.
Gary Darrow is doing some better this week. My grandmother, Lela, talked to him a few days ago. He is still having some trouble with his leg/foot that has bothered him for a few years now.
Joan and Duane Garrett's twin great-granddaughters are still holding their own in a Dallas hospital.
I heard the other day that G.W. Duckworth has been moved from an assisted living center in Sulphur Springs to a rehab in McKinney.
Speaking of rehabs, Jean Akins is still in a rehab since she broke her leg but is doing better.
Since I mentioned in last week's column that I have a Facebook account I have had several people respond.
I got to babysit my niece one afternoon this week. She is really growing. She's learning how to coordinate her hands and fingers to reach and grab the things she wants. She's just about to learn how to roll over, too.
Last week, I heard from a friend that Geneva Stripling commented on how much she enjoyed reading the Miller Grove News. I appreciate the comments, but some weeks I don't have very much to report. I know that will change when school starts and activities start taking place. In fact, volleyball season is coming up.
