Just the other day I was thinking about how hot it was and how ready I was for it to be winter. But when winter gets here I will wish it was summer — we're never satisfied. Then again, you know it must be hot when you drive by and see Patsy Yates' garden burning up. Her garden is always so beautiful, but this year I believe it (along with all of the other gardens and plants in the area) is feeling the effects of the heat!
Only about five weeks to go until school starts back. If any of you parents need a school supply list, you should be able to find one at Wal-Mart or print one off of the school's website (millergrove.esc8. net). We hope next year will be a successful year. Three teachers have been hired to fill various positions that were vacated at the end of last school year. Heather Morgan will be the new 6th grade teacher, Melissa Payne will be the new girls athletics/P.E. teacher, and Marcy Hayden will take Mrs. Irby's spot as English teacher.
Happy birthday to Barry Smith on July 15, and Paula (Smith) Cummings and William Sallee on July 17. Barry will be the big 5-0 on his birthday. Some of you may know him as "Moon" instead of Barry. If you happen to see him out and about, wish him a happy birthday.
Happy anniversary to Gary and Judy Williams and Johnny and Kathy Lennon on July 13, Vicki and Ernie Weaver on July 14, and Mack and Betty (Darrow) Phillips on July 18. This year my Uncle Mack and Aunt Betty will be married 50 years! Congratulations to them, and I hope they have many more to celebrate.
Please keep Joan and Duane Garrett's twin great-grandchildren in your prayers. Their granddaughter, Ginger, went into labor early and her little twins only weigh between 2 and 3 pounds each. They are in the hospital in Dallas. Joan and Duane's son, Paul Garrett, and daughter-in-law, Bonny Garrett, are Ginger's parents. Also, please remember Jean Akins. A couple of weeks ago she fell and broke her leg.
