Community information is in short supply again this week. Maybe it is true when they say, “No news is good news!”
Happy birthday to Zach Crispin on April 19 and Derrick Petty on April 25.
Happy 52nd anniversary to Billy and Jean Wren of Irving, on April 20. They are both such nice Christian people. Jean is still battling lung cancer, but has been doing much better lately. Congratulations Billy and Jean!
At Monday night’s school board meeting, it was decided May 30 would be the day of our traditional End-of-School Stew. Mark your calendars and be sure to attend.
MGISD faculty and staff had a baby shower for our fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Crystal Stillwagoner, on Tuesday afternoon. She had several nice gifts. Her baby is due May 12. She’s getting down to the nitty-gritty now. She, and husband Russell Stillwagoner, have decided to name the baby Mason Lee Stillwagoner.
I could be an uncle any time now. Only 12 days until Bradley and Madison’s baby is due. The official due date is May 4, but she could always come early.
I’m sure a lot of you received the newsletter sent out from the MGVFD. Brian Thomas mentioned how much work and money has gone into our beautiful new fire station. He also mentioned in the letter that their regular meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The fire department will have a Grand Opening for the new station on Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m. All of the volunteers, young and old, are doing a great job. Keep it up guys!
I’m sure the fire department volunteers were at the house fire on FM 2653 Monday night. I’m not sure how extensive the damage was, but any house fire is not good.
Remember Miller Grove’s annual Cemetery Memorial Day services on May 2. I will let you know more details about the services next week.
