I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday. I enjoyed my long weekend because we were out of school Friday and Monday. I was also able to see a couple of my cousins over the weekend. They came up from Houston and spend the day Friday and Saturday.
I talked to Emily Alexander last week and she told me that April is Autism Awareness month. Her grandson (Neal’s son) is Autistic. I don’t think that we really realize how many individuals have Autism and how many families are affected by this impairment. Emily told me that every twenty minutes another person is diagnosed with Autism.
She also said that they are currently selling bracelets as a fundraiser and there will be a walk to promote Autism research in Arlington on Nov. 14. If you would like to learn more about Autism, the walk or other fundraisers, give David and Emily Alexander a call. They’ll be glad to explain anything that you want to know about Autism.
For those of you who didn’t make it to the baseball game, the Hornets were squashed by the Cumby Trojans Friday. We’ll do better next time though. I will give it to Cumby that they played a good game.
Happy Birthday wishes go out to Cherrie (George) Bessonett and Erma Harwell on Apr. 13, Mary Burns on Apr. 14, and my Aunt Sally Millsap on Apr. 18. Erma moved here from Missouri a few years ago. She went back to her home state for a while and is now living in Sulphur Springs. Her son and daughter-in-law are Steve and Karen Culbertson, who live on FM 1567. Mary Kate Burns has celebrated a special birthday this week. I have always been told that it isn’t polite to reveal a lady’s age, so I’ll stop while I’m ahead. I hope she had a good birthday though.
