Since school is out for the summer, that will cut down on the amount of news I have to share for the next couple of months. But, you know me, I’ll scrounge up some news somewhere.

Gardens in the area are looking good for now. I have noticed a slew of baby grasshoppers around our house, so those gardens may not last too long this year.

James, Kayla and Jaxson Weaver stopped by the school Monday afternoon and visited with some of us in the office for a little while. It was good to see them. They were visiting friends and family in our area since they don’t get back this way very often. They said living in Alpine is much different than living in East Texas. There is no humidity there, so it feels much hotter here with the amount of moisture we have.

I heard that Johnny Lennon had surgery on his neck last week in Dallas. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

I talked to Jim Burns a few days ago. He said that he and Mary were both doing well. It was good to get to talk to him.

Happy birthday this week to Freddy Stotts on June 10, Joyce (May) Cox on June 11, Kyle Tate on June 14, Jenny (Oler) Holland on June 15, and Micah Stotts and Kenny Scott on June 16.

Happy 30th anniversary to Stevie and Cheri Tipps on June 12.

I hope all of the fathers out there have a great Father’s Day this coming Sunday.

As you travel the highways and byways, don’t forget that all roads lead home and back to Miller Grove. Please send me any newsworthy information. My e-mail address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
