There hasn’t been very much happening in the community other than the usual basketball games. The most recent excitement was a wreck last week in front of the old Miller Grove School gym.

One man was driving a truck and trailer northbound on FM 275 while another man was going southbound. The southbound man reportedly blacked out and hit the truck and trailer headed north. Thankfully, everyone was OK, and there were no serious injuries, even though an ambulance came to the scene of the accident.

I’m sure several of you noticed in a recent edition of the News-Telegram that Jim and Mary Burns were honored at Sulphur Bluff for being part of the Mason’s organization for 60 years. What an honor!

Tonight’s science fair will begin at 5 p.m. Parents and community members are invited to come out and see the exhibits. The second annual science fair will conclude at 6:30 p.m.

Happy birthday this week to Misty (Burns) Smith on Jan. 22, Susan (Scott) Crank and Eric Mabe on Jan. 24, Michael Garrett on Jan. 25 and Trudy (Dicken) Mayers on Jan. 26.
