I talked to Michael Woodard the other day, and he was telling me about a Miller Grove basketball team that was on ESPN. But, it wasn’t our Miller Grove; it was Miller Grove, Georgia. Yes, you probably would have never guessed that there was another Miller Grove out there. I think our fourth graders may even try to correspond with the fourth graders from Miller Grove, Georgia. I think that would be a good class project.
The main attraction in the community this week is Homecoming. I hope we have a lot of participation on Friday night. We will play the home school team, CHESS, with the coronation of the homecoming court following the varsity boys’ basketball game. The boys game should begin around 7 p.m. This year’s homecoming court consists of Colten Baylus, Hunter Darrow, Matthew Gifford, Wesley Potts, Dylan Sims, Nicole Hall, Gabriela Lobo, Holly Miller, Neida Resendiz and Destiny Soto.
There will also be a time for old school friends to mix and mingle Friday night. The first annual “Meet & Greet” will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the high school library for any and all alumni. Chips, dips and all sorts of snacks will be provided for past graduates by the Miller Grove Alumni Association.
