Happy New Year everyone! As the new year dawns we often wonder what lies in store for the 12 months ahead of us and we think up all sorts of new year’s resolutions.
I know many folks start out the new year going on a diet. If you have ever seen me you know I don’t need to be on a diet. Maybe I should make a resolution to gain weight. The problem with a new year’s resolution is that usually we break them after about 2 days. Well, you may not, but I usually do. That is why I didn’t set any resolutions for myself this year. But, if you did, I wish you luck and I hope you are able to stick to them.
I haven’t heard if there was a very good turnout or not for the County Line stew and singing Sunday. I didn’t get to go. After church, I made lunch for my brother and his family.
Happy birthday to Cathy Weatherly and Blake McGowan on Jan. 5, and my sister-in-law, Madison Darrow, on Jan. 6.
School starts back for the students at Miller Grove on Thursday. We are preparing for homecoming. The homecoming basketball game will be played against CHESS, the assocation of home-school families, on Friday, Jan. 13. I hope you all will come out and support our teams that night and watch the crowing of the 2012 Homecoming King and Queen. Miller Grove Alumni are also invited that night to come out and enjoy some refreshments and visit with classmates from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the high school library.
That’s about all the news I have for this week. Maybe I will have more next week.
