Please remember my grandmother, Lela Darrow, in your prayers. She fell late Saturday afternoon and broke her arm. She is such a prayer warrior that I know she would appreciate any of you praying for her.
A.J. and Heather Miller brought home a new addition to their family last week. Their daughter, Teagan Emmalee Miller, was born at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital on March 24. She weighed 6 pounds and 9 ounces. In addition to her parents, she was welcomed into the world by her siblings, Ashley, Holly and Logan Miller. Congratulations, Miller family!
I have received word on the final combined total that Miller Grove FFA students received for selling their NETLA Show animals. The grand total of sales and “ad-ons” was over $49,000. That wasn’t too bad, was it? It really doesn’t surprise me though. The Miller Grove students and both Agriculture teachers have worked hard all year preparing the animals for the show.
Miller Grove’s drama class competed in UIL’s One Act Play a while back and was awarded “advancing play.” They did a great job and performed the play at the district level Tuesday at Paris Junior College and advanced again. Now, the students will perform at Grayson Community College in Dennison to see if they will win Area. Mareyna Gallegos was named Best Actress. All Star Cast honors went to Andrew Steele, Dylan Sims, and Madison Penny. Zach Shepherd and Chelsea Smith were awarded Honorable Mention. I know Mrs. Bryant, the drama teacher, is very proud of them. They have done a great job so far and I'm sure they will do even better in their next competition.
Happy birthday to Colton Tipps on March 27, Franklin Johnson on March 29, and B.J. Wright and David Tipps on March 31.
Mrs. Opal Burks passed away Monday night, just nine days shy of her 101st birthday. As of now, I do not know what the funeral arrangements will be.
