MILLER GROVE NEWS July 14, 2010

E-mail Print PDF

Well readers I don’t know about other parts of the county, but last week there were a couple of times I thought we were going to get washed away with all of the rain. I’m not complaining at all, but it is so irregular to have this much rain in July.

There is a reward for the recent shooting of the Miller Grove Volunteer Fire Department’s new station. Someone shot out a window and put bullet holes in the station’s outer walls. If anyone has any clues as to who would have vandalized the fire station, please let the police know. I really hate that someone would stoop to such a level of hatred and carelessness, especially since we have such a nice facility now.

The other day I got an email from Sandra Ridenour and Skip Dougherty. They said that there has been a couple of puppies dumped off down the county road that they live on (just south west of Miller Grove). One of the puppies appears to be part German Shepherd. If anyone would like these dogs please let me know and I will put you in contact with Sandra and Skip. They also said this isn’t the first time animals have been dropped off in their area. Please be responsible and take any unwanted pets to a shelter.

Happy birthday to Bo Wright on July 13; Sandra Garrett, Sherry Darrow and Barry “Moon” Smith on July 15; and Paula Cummings and William Sallee on July 17.

I only know of two area anniversaries this week. Happy anniversary to Johnny and Kathy Lennon on July 13 and Ernie and Vicki Weaver on July 14.

I have spent some time with cousins from Houston this week. We have been running around and eating some good meals.

Jeff Wren recently painted his house.

Calvin and Sonia Earp and family have been on a vacation to Florida. I’m sure they had a good time.

Steve and Melissa Johnson went to see Steve’s parents in Washington state last week.

As you travel the highways and byways don’t forget that all roads lead back home and back to Miller Grove. Please send me any newsworthy information. My email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
