News is short and the temperature is high this week in Miller Grove. As the month progresses so does the thermometer! It was nice to get a few sporadic rain showers last week.

I have a cousin that will probably stay in Oklahoma a good bit this summer. Although, I doubt it will be much cooler there.

This week’s happy birthday wishes go out to Terry Tate on June 14, Jenny (Oler) Holland on June 15, and Mary Lynn Ferguson on June 19.

Happy anniversary to Carol and Billy Dunn on June 17. This year will mark their 43rd anniversary.

Faye Tipps has company this week. Her cousin, J.W. Melton, came to visit from Tyler. Her grandson, Austin Tipps, has also been visiting her quite frequently.

Last week was Vacation Bible School in most of the surrounding churches. I know Brashear and County Line had their Vacation Bible School during the same week.

J.W. Hensley passed away last week. Some of you may remember that he was a preacher at Center Point Baptist Church several years ago.

Cayle Watson, who will be a senior at MGHS next year, just returned from a trip to Washington, D.C. He was the one student from Miller Grove who won a trip sponsored by Cumby Telephone to the nation’s capitol. He said that while he was gone on the trip he was able to meet several politicians. One person he was able to meet was Texas Congressman Ralph Hall.
