The end of the school year is about the biggest news that we have in the community this week. Sometimes I feel like the only things happening in the community concern the school. But I guess it is the hub of the community. Without the school, we would be no different than County Line or Bonanza or any of the other small communities that have virtually vanished over time in our county.
Miller Grove’s playoff baseball games last week were short lived when we were up against Carlisle. Although, I thought our boys did extremely well especially for being up against a school that was ranked seventh in state. Both games were played in Van, one on Thursday night and one on Friday night. MG was defeated Thursday 9-0 and Friday 10-0. We now hold the title of Bi-District Champs, an honor that we haven’t received in quite some time. Congratulations boys on a job well done.
The month of May is full of excitement in Miller Grove. It seems like everywhere you turn there is something to do or somewhere to go. No wonder I can’t seem to get any of the projects finished that I start!
There was quite a bit of excitement in Miller Grove last week. I will try to tell the facts as best I can. My mother always refers to my weekly news as “The Miller Grove Gossip Column,” and she may be right to some degree. Mr. Webster defines gossip as “rumors and conjectures about others.” At least I try my best to only report the facts — well, for the most part!
